The Plasti-Fab composite FRP Weir Gates are ideal for controlling upstream channel depth and regulating discharge rates. These weirs are designed and engineered for maximum corrosion resistance in hostile environments. Plasti-Fab Weir Gates allow for consolidation of traditional Weir Plate and Slide Gate combinations at the basin entrance.
FRP Control Gate
Weirs are used to control upstream water levels or regulating discharge rates. They can be customized to include a v-notch, level sensors and modulating electric operators, etc. At times there will be a level control sensor in the system which is directly connected – controlling a modulating electric operator to automatically pace the amount of flow discharged and/or maintain a constant upstream water depth.
Depending on the size of the weir opening and the heads involved, the downward opening weir gate can be constructed as a sandwich style penstock, a one-inch solid FRP gate, or as a Heavy Duty Titeseal gate. If possible, weir gates should be installed to operate with a seating head to obtain the best leakage performance. However, they can also be designed for unseating heads as well.
