Flow Measurement

Closed & Open Channel Flow Meters

Measuring flow rate within a closed pipe can be achieved with many different metering technologies. Pipe size, fluid type and velocity are important factors when selecting the appropriate meter for your measurement application. Magnetic Flow Meters, Acoustic Doppler Insertion Meters and Ultrasonic Transit Time Meters are the most common meters used in the industry.

With your application and budget in mind, let us help determine the best flow measurement tool for you. We work with a variety of manufacturers to measure flow within closed pipes, open channels, flumes and river applications. No application is too big or too small. ISCO Signature® Flow Meter

The Signature flow meter is designed for open channel flow monitoring applications. It supports flow measurement technologies, including bubbler, non-contact laser area velocity, submerged Doppler ultrasonic area velocity, and ultrasonic. The meter can calculate flow using standard open channel level-to-flow and area velocity conversions and user-defined equations, level to area data points, or level to flow data points, depending on the application need.
The Signature flow meter has unique features to verify data integrity. It logs key events such as changes in calibration and power outages to validate data accuracy. Data can be easily reviewed to detect any type of data alteration. With multiple smart interface options and multi-parameter logging (such as pH), the Signature flow meter provides a common platform for control action, reporting, and communication.
Multiple flow technologies are available so you can select the best flow technology for the measurement site and channel conditions. Available technologies are bubbler, ultrasonic, continuous wave area velocity, and non-contacting LaserFlow™ velocity.

Flexim Clamp-On Flow Meters

FLUXUS F401

Single Channel Portable Flow Meter

The FLUXUS F401 is FLEXIM's dedicated single channel portable flow meter for applications in the municipial water and wastewater sector offering long term stable and precise bidirectional flow measurements in remote areas outdoor - being ideal for water loss activities prescribed in AWWA M-36.

As the measurement is carried out from the pipe wall outside and without contact with the water column, there is no need to enter the piping system or to interrupt supply. Thus, the FLUXUS F401 is the ideal tool for service and maintenance activities, for long or short term monitoring, data logging and existing meter verification.

The FLUXUS F401 is equipped with water-tight IP68 / NEMA 6P transducers, with the flow transmitter residing inside a IP67 / NEMA 6 suitcase. Combining its internal battery capacity with an additional external battery suitcase (IP67 / NEMA 6 protected), the F401 offers long term remote measurements of at least one week.

FLUXUS F601

The Portable Multi-Functional Flowmeter

The FLUXUS F601 is the portable clamp-on flow meter of choice for servicing and maintenance activities, the control and auditing of measurement points not covered by permanent meters, or even the temporary replacement of permanently installed flow meters.

The FLUXUS F601 is measurement-ready in less than 5 minutes, including the measurement of the pipe wall thickness, the connection of the transducers to the transmitter, the setup of the flow meter and finally the mounting of the transducers.

FLUXUS F501

Bi-Directional Flow Measurement

The FLUXUS F501 is FLEXIM's solution for many flow metering applications found in the water and wastewater sector and adjacent industries.

The FLUXUS F501 offers a precise bi-directional flow measurement over a wide turndown ratio - not only at high, but especially at low flow velocities. Due to its matched and paired transducers, it also guarantees a superior zero stability.

As of its high repeatability, the FLUXUS F501 also offers the possibility for leak detection. Especially at night, when temperatures are more even and only low flow velocities are common in drinking water lines, leakages can clearly be identified and such reading transferred to a process control system.

FLUXUS F704

The Flow Meter for permanent installation

With one or two flow channels and versatile electrical inputs and outputs, the FLUXUS F704 can be configured optimally for your application needs, measuring and serving up a variety of process parameters.

The FLUXUS F704 features a robust metal field housing. Its clamp-on flow transducers are simply mounted onto the pipe from the outside and are thus installed quickly, without any process interruption and without any production stoppage.

Stream/River Flow Measurementment

StreamPro ADCP
Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler

The StreamPro utilizes patented ADCP technology to measure stream discharge in channels less than 20 feet deep. The StreamPro measure velocities in discrete cells from top to bottom as the boat passes from one bank to the other mapping the streambed. Find out why Teledyne RDI’s patented technology excels over competitive ADCPs.

RiverPro ADCP
Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler

The RiverPro is the newest auto-adaptive ADCP from Teledyne RDI. Designed for rivers and streams 20 centimeters to 25 meters deep. 20 Degree beam angles allow velocity data to be collected closer to the bottom. 600 kHz 5th beam collects true vertical velocity with calibrated RRSI and range to bottom. Fully integrated GPS for geo-referencing.

RiverRay ADCP

Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler

The RiverRay is a user friendly ADCP that goes straight to work once it’s placed in the water. This unit selects which modes to operate in and makes mode changes as necessary on the fly.

ChannelMaster H-ADCP

Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler

Most commonly used as an index-velocity flow meter, this horizontal fixed mounted unit can be used for discharge measurements in canals or to monitor currents at potentially significant boat traffic lanes. Multiple frequencies are available covering a channel width from 3 feet up to 900 feet.
